One Hundred

I had the pleasure of kicking off Liars’ League‘s 100th EVENT: Hundreds and Thousands, earlier this month by reading a super succinct and melancholicly tinged 100 word story – ‘One Hundred Years’ by Joanne L M Williams.

A transcript of the story, along with all the other 100 word stories from the night, can be found here, podcast of the whole night here and video evidence below:

Here’s to the next 100!

Selfie Stick all up in Yo Face

So far, February has seen me venture out to read another story for Liars’ League – this time for their ‘Clean and Dirty’ Valentine’s special.

Here I am, mid read, in my flatmate’s fluffy leopard print dressing gown:

The story was entitled ‘Selfie Stick’ – a saucy little number, penned by Michael Clarke, which you can listen to below:

Sexual perversity in Stoke Newington… When our narrator gets bored in bed, her Swedophile hipster boyfriend suggests filming an amateur porno – in IKEA… and that ain’t the half of it!

A podcast of all the ‘Clean and Dirty’ stories can be found right here and the mp3 and text of ‘Selfie Stick’ can be found here. PHWOARRRR.

Bye bye 2015 and hello there 2016

It’s a new year and things are a brewin’.

More on that soon…

2015 was rounded off by a second outing of my new Lois of the Lane ‘Shake’ act at Properganda in Stoke Newington (which now happily involves a steak dog toy):

and another reading for Liars’ League for their Christmas event ‘Kith and Kin’:

Mp3 and text of the story, ‘Maryam’s Prayer’, by Abigail Lee, can be found here, a podcast of all the stories from the night can be found here and video footage of me in action – RIGHT HERE:

Seduced by an angel (or was he?) poor Maryam must risk the consequences and face the future with her new husband and unborn child…

Spooky Lies

October’s seen more story reading action from me for Liars’ League – this time, with tales of a spooky persuasion, as we lurch expectantly towards Halloween…

On the 13th, at their Signs and Omens event at the Phoenix, I read The Magic Slate by Pat Black and on the 16th, at the Brick Brewery in Peckham, as part of Lit Crawl, I read Coin Karma by Kate Franklin.

Here I am, mid Magic Slate:

Text, videos and mp3s of The Magic Slate, and all the other Signs and Omens stories, here,

Podcast of The Magic Slate and 2 other Signs and Omens stories here,

and videos of both The Magic Slate and Coin Karma, below:

When Terri buys a cheap toy at the corner shop to keep her son Ben quiet, what he draws on it will come back to haunt them both …

Sandra collects face-up coins and flips those that are face-down, for the next passerby to find. A reversal of bad fortune for good, a blessing from the Universe. Only, is she meddling in things she shouldn’t?

Enjoy, if you dare

Sweet Little Lies

Last night I found myself reading a beautiful story called ‘The Chip on your Shoulder’ by Imogen Hermes Gowar at the Liars’ League‘s ‘Boom and Bust‘ event at The Phoenix – my first bit of live spoken performance in godknowsHOWlong!

Despite the fact that it wasn’t a silent performance, the facial expressions were still out in full force.

Here I am, in action, with a big fat grin on my face:

and here is the video evidence:

(It’s definitely time for my tri-monthly hair cut…  LOOK AT ALL THAT HAIR!)
