SUPER SITUATION
![]()
My new show SUPER SITUATION made its way up to The Bongo Club
during the Edinburgh Fringe in 2009, after some storming previews at Theatre 503 in July.
In 2010 it was one of the first shows to play at the newly opened Waterloo East Theatre. We are currently in the process of putting together a funding proposal to develop it further and then take it on tour. Updates and the like on my news page. You can find more information on the show (including photos and reviews) here. |
GLITCH
I wrote, marketed, produced and performed in one woman visual comedy GLITCH which premiered at the
Pleasance during
the last week of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2006. It was a very last minute affair which, fortunately, turned out to be a
rewarding gamble."This timely black comedy is woven from several strands of bitter contemporary malaise: the encroachment of government surveillance into our private affairs; the intrusion of marketing strategies into every transaction we undertake; and the infuriating inhumanity of automated customer service networks." The Scotsman It doesn't sound like a barrel of laughs but it is very silly and I managed to get Richard Hurst on board to Direct a few days before my first performance. The show made its London debut at the Etcetera Theatre in January 2007, followed by another run of dates at the Etcetera in January/February 2008 - this time featuring me as my alter ego Lois of the Lane - both runs proving to be sell-out successes. Go GLITCH! It then found its way to the British Library where I did 20 performances in January and February 2009 as part of the Taking Liberties exhibition. In 2010 it was one of the first shows to play at the newly opened Waterloo East Theatre. Where will it take me next...? Click here for production photos. |

DEEPER UNDERGROUND
My first foray into the world of visual comedy writing came in the shape of DEEPER UNDERGROUND, a show
I co-wrote/directed/marketed/produced and performed in with 3 friends under the banner of Just Press Play.
It proved to be a storming sell out success at the
Pleasance during the Edinburgh Fringe in 2003 and one day
it shall rise again!"Little more than four strangers on a train, thoughts relayed by pop music and voiceover, their entrapment on London’s Tube will strike a horrible discord with anyone who’s ever been on public transport, hot, frustrated and pondering the murder of fellow passengers. A true Fringe Experience." **** The Scotsman Click here for more information on the show, including photographs and full reviews. |

One day I will get around to developing a ridiculous Feature Film project that I have in my head. Updates and information here when I have them. |
: TELEVISION : |
A good while ago, my friend, and fellow tea drinker/biscuit consumer, Emma Hamilton asked me to help her develop an idea she had for a sit-com. We have almost entirely opposing working hours and free time but, eventually, we managed to somehow come up with 6 fully plotted episodes and an array of fully fleshed out characters. It shall suprise you to hear that it's a bit off the wall and contains a fair bit of... (wait for it...) visual comedy. Unfortunately another (rather more experienced) team beat us to it with a sit-com set in the same location - albeit looking at it in a very different way, and written in a very different style - which has proven to be more than rather popular and we lost steam a bit. I do not believe, however, that this is the end of the story... |
